NARITA — Japan and the United States are considering having an officer from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security dispatched to Narita airport as part of international antiterrorism efforts, informed sources said Saturday.

The officer would provide data on blacklisted individuals to Japanese police and immigration authorities and offer advice to airlines on matters such as checking authenticity of passports and travel documents, the sources said.
